The 1st Adam vs the second AdamThe difference between Adam and Christ is almost the same as the difference between ‘you’ before you were born again and now.—————————-
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Gen 2:7)
He made a body and then blew breath (spirit / life) and man became a living body (being / soul). Notice God didn’t put a soul in man he became a soul.
So the combination of body and spirit produced soul? see he ‘became’.
So was Adam’s first thought the start of the essence of his soul? In other words was he a blank soul ready for life’s interaction to ‘become soul’ by his unique experience?
Do humans get conceived with blank souls? But if a soul is only produced by experiencing living, where do talents or giftedness come from, e.g. the ability to be amazing at music etc.
Do people start with unique talents encoded into their brain, spirit or soul?
Brain: Identical twins show its not brains, not genetics, when we see identical twins we see they start with identical body’s, identical DNA, identical genetics, but they have very different personalities and talents.
Spirit: The bible says the “Then shall the dust (human) return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it” (Ecc 12:7) So did God give us a spirit with unique talents, or is it just life force? A power plant?
Soul: The bible clearly shows that God never breathed a soul into Adam but spirit or life force. So how could the soul be unique? Is it even a thing or just a collection of your responses to living?
If soul is made of mind, emotion and desire, then it is soul is the sum total of the whole being, add mind and heart together and the out come is soul.
A + B = C
Because soul is like the outcome of these entities (mind, heart) the soul is like software, thoughts, desires, nature. Is it therefore it like writing a software package then turning on the power to activate it? God made the machine (body) and wrote the software (mind, heart) and turned it on (spirit). Is it another way of saying we are a self learning, self aware computer software package, that is precious and God wants to save it.
I believe we were born a soul that had a spirit and lives in a body, at conception we get a unique personality (mind and heart) with unique gifts, whether this comes from God or just the mixing of the mothers and fathers DNA and spirit I do not know yet, but we do know we are a learning and growing, increasing as a collection of living thoughts and desires.
When we take off this body we are only a collection of thoughts, concepts, character, morals, ideas, desires, decisions, in other words living soul, or ‘living software’ or living word. However a corruptible living software or word, a flawed system, the soul is to easily made selfish and corrupt, for wherever its thinking, desires and emotions are – there it is or so is it, we need something to guide our souls in the right path… a guiding element, something that keeps us right, maybe a life giving spirit so that we always want to give life. But God had even a better plan than that, a life giving spirit and born again this time of incorruptible word (software, mind of Christ). Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and stays for ever (1 Peter 1:23)
We are born again of the spirit, that which is spirit is spirit (John 3:6) but we live and experience wherever our thinking is at, we learn, we understand, we dwell in our mind, in other words soul… so are we soul or are we spirit?
Jesus life is the perfect answer to this riddle, He lived wherever His head was at, as demonstrated by Him growing in wisdom and maturity (Luke 2:52), and learning, being unaware of who touched Him (Luke 8:45,46).
But the bible says of Him So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. (1 Cor 15:45)
So Jesus was a life giving spirit, that had a soul and lived in a body, but He experienced life wherever His thinking was just the same, the difference is His unique personality was not in the soul, it was in the spirit.
Jesus also humbled His soul with forty days of fasting to learn to walk more sensitive to His spirit. Does that make Him a soul? no it means He lives in a soul.
He was a living spirit that had a body and the soul (software) to run it, if you want to live in this world as a spirit you need to join to a soul to live in a body.
If he was to take off His body, He is a spirit that possesses a soul (earth experience, software to run the machine), just like us now that we are born-again
Part 2 – What was the difference between the 1st Adam and the 2nd, both had a body, a soul and a spirit, the difference appears to be in the spirit only, one spirit was a life force and the other one was a life giving spirit. One had a spirit from the Lord and one was the Spirit of the Lord. (1 Cor 15:47)
This will help us identify the difference between pre and post born-again. We must know what state Adam was in after the fall, what died his spirit or his soul? What do people who do not have Christ have, a dead soul or a dead spirit? What gets made a new your spirit or your soul?
What died in the first Adam?
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die (Gen 2:17, 3:4,5)
It is very clear in genesis that a day was a typical 24 hour period, a night and a day, so the moment Adam ate the fruit he died, it wasn’t his body that died therefore it was his soul or spirit.
Spirit and soul?
If his spirit died was it because sin entered his soul and because God can’t be joined to sin his spirit died? That very moment sin entered the glory left him and he knew he was naked.
Standard Christian belief identify original sin as physical and spiritual death, the spiritual death being the loss of “the grace of God, which quickened (the soul) with the glorious spiritual life”
In Adam all die
Most believe that original sin comes to all of Adam descendants simply from a child taking its nature from its parents; parents who also have a nature with original sin. In this way original sin is not imputing the sin of the father to the son; rather, it is simply the inheritance of a wounded nature from the father, which is an unavoidable part of reproduction.
The seed of a man is a living cell (sperm), which is both DNA and spirit, if that seed is corrupt through the spirit of sin then all get born sinners.
So if everyone is born a sinner (dead in sin), it is the whole seed that is faulty, body, soul and spirit.
The bible says The soul that sins, it shall die. (Ezk 18:4,20). For all have sinned (Rom 3:23,5:12) So we will all die, this is called the second death, it either happens when you receive Christ (He did the dying, but you in Him) or if you don’t receive Christ on the day of judgement. It is for certain that in this life there will be two deaths, one physical and one of the soul.
So the spirit died, for if the soul is going to die and the body is going to die, then the spirit is already dead in sin. Elsewhere the bible declares the spirit is made alive, therefore it can be dead. But if Christ is in you, your bodies are dead due to sin, but the spirit is alive due to righteousness.
It appears to be clear that everything is already dead but just doesn’t know it yet, The whole seed is corrupt.
The death made Adams seed the devils seed
Jesus said You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father you will do. (John 8:44)
God said to the serpent (devil) after they sinned… And I will put enmity (state of war) between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel. (Gen 3:15)
God was saying He will bring a seed into a woman who will not be of the devil’s seed and it shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel, interesting terminology ‘it shall bruise your head’ (crucifixion) and ‘you shall bruise His heel’ (Jesus).
Therefore the difference between a Christian and a non Christian is all things have become new for the Christian, spirit, soul and body (body at the resurrection). And everything is dead in the non Christian, spirit now, body soon and soul at the judgement or point of receiving Christ.
One is the devils seed and the other is Gods seed, one soul is made of corruptible software (word) and the other incorruptible software (word, mind of Christ).
